Solveig Melkeraaen holds a degree in directing from Lillehammer University College. The award-winning short documentary Radio Bingo(2002) was her breakthrough as a documentary filmmaker. She has directed a number of documentaries shown on Norwegian television and at various festivals both at home and abroad, including the Gifted Child(2006) and Statistics (2008), which won the award for best short documentary in the Nordic Nordisk Panorama Film Festival in 2008. Statistics was also selected for Hot Docs in Canada 2009. The Fabulous Fiff and Fam (shown on NRK) in 2009, won the award for best film at the Minimalen festival in Trondheim, and was also shown at Hot Docs in 2010. Solveig has also made Bank Bus (shown on NRK 2010) which received high ratings and lots of positive feedback from viewers. Her most recent film Lifelong Love (2011).
